Brian has over 35 years of technical and executive management experience in a broad range of Silicon Valley companies including Hewlett Packard, Proxim, and most recently, Messenger Terabit Networks which he co-founded in 2001. He has extensive experience in electronic product, RF communications and software design, and has used that broad knowledge to lead the development of the revolutionary Shotgun Rider ELD.
At Proxim, Brian was Vice President of Operations for two years at a public company that had $100 Million in annual sales. Prior to that, he was Director of Product Development for Proxim, and led the effort that produced the first consumer Wireless LAN products in the late 1990’s. Brian has a patent that is used in the WiFi standard that allows typical computers to connect to the internet.
Positioning is a critical part of any ELD solution, and Brian has extensive experience in precision tracking of everything from huge cranes in container handling terminals to children. Brian was the COO for NOW Solutions which installed sophisticated and precise tracking systems on Container Handling Equipment in shipping port terminals in California, Virginia, Hawaii and Mexico. He also has extensive GPS/GNSS experience with B3 Advanced Communication Systems, and as VP of Engineering for Wheels of Zeus (Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak’s company) which worked on miniature tracking systems for pets and children.
Brian has both a BS and a MS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley. He is the present Treasurer of the California Trucking Association Central Coast Unit, and has been an active member since 2014. Brian has three granted patents, and others pending.
Paul has over 35 years of financial management experience. He is a highly skilled senior financial executive with experience building, strengthening and leading finance and administration functions for technology firms with annual revenues up to $80M, both public and private. His career has been focused on U.S. based manufacturing companies making products such as semiconductors, semiconductor equipment, PCB manufacturing equipment, disc drive media, and biotech laboratory analysis tools. During his career, Paul has assisted in raising over $100M of venture capital for various start-up companies.
Most recently, Paul was V.P. Finance for Enki Technology, Inc., a clean tech firm making anti-reflective coatings for solar panels, acquired by First Solar. Prior roles include senior financial leadership positions at SugarCRM, a Customer Relationship Management software provider, and QuantaLife, Inc., a highly successful biotech startup acquired by BioRad.
Paul received a BS in Business summa cum laude from the University of Southern California, and an MBA from UCLA. He is a Certified Public Accountant, licensed in California.
Cathy has over 10 years of Biochemistry Industry experience starting with work on the initial phases of the human genome project at Lawrence Livermore National labs as a college intern. After graduation, she worked as a Research and Development Scientist for the medical diagnostics company Syva. There, Cathy developed assays for human Thyroid function and for drugs of abuse testing. As a Senior scientist managing a group of scientists for the Product Support Group, she led efforts to troubleshoot complex problems reported from field tests to maintain FDA compliance and patient safety.
For the last 14 years, Cathy has been a teacher of Chemistry and Advanced Science Research for Los Gatos High School in Silicon Valley. She is the Science Department Chair, and was recognized in 2018 as the top Science Fair teacher in California. Cathy led the first public high school in the United States to successfully design, build and send a scientific project to the International Space Station in 2013. Cathy’s students have been internationally recognized by receiving awards at the Google and Intel Science Fairs, as well as having many projects recognized annually at the California State Science Fair. Cathy has had over 150 students who have taken her research class (many for multiple years), and she is working hard to help develop America’s next generation of scientists and engineers.
Cathy has a BS in Biochemistry with a minor in Environmental Toxicology from the University of California, Davis. She has a M.Ed. from National University. Cathy has been a founding Board Member of the company since 2001
